Return on Investment

Companies are always looking for ways to cut costs and give themselves a competitive advantage. Tempus' Fleet Management System is designed to help you do just that.

Our team will work with you to help you realize the maximum benefit from your investment. Below is an overview of some of the returns achievable through the use of our system.

Minimize time, expense, and inherent mistakes in paperwork
Tempus allows you to virtually eliminate the paper shuffle. We provide electronic way bills, log book, load tickets and many other customizable forms. These forms can be set to populate automatically with standard information, and are all transferred automatically to the office. The information can be downloaded into your current office system, or accessed through our reporting tools.

Increase payload
Payload can be increased through hauling more product and reducing wait time.

Trucks can load closer to the maximum legal axle weight by allowing the driver (and the loader operator) to view individual and total axle weights while loading.

Drivers operating in a cycle, such as a log or chip haul, can avoid delays in the loading and unloading areas by being able to view where the other trucks are in the cycle. Also, an active driver management option gives live feedback to the driver. This feature tells the driver where the optimum position is and gives him suggestions on the most efficient course of action.

More effective dispatching
Dispatchers are able to view the location, direction of travel, and load status of all of the trucks in the fleet. Additionally they have access to the drivers operating hours and duty status, and can communicate directly with the drivers to provide relevant information.

Improve maintenance and reduce fuel consumption
Wear and tear on trucks can be reduced through monitoring driving habits, and providing incentives for responsible driving. Fuel costs can also be dramatically reduced in the same way; fuel consumption can vary by over 20% between drivers operating under the same conditions.

Reduce overweight fines
On-board load scales measure individual axle weights, and warn the driver when individual or total axle weights exceed the legal limit.

Accelerate loading
Currently, a loader operator is dependent on the driver to communicate weight information to him. By allowing both the driver and loader operator to view the axle weights, the vehicle can be loaded more quickly.

The electronic load ticket can be automatically populated with driver's name, truck number, origin, destination and type of load reducing time spent filling out forms.

Improve accountability
Easily access information necessary for compliance with company, government, or insurance regulations.

Promote safety
Managers are able to locate and communicate with drivers working in remote areas. Drivers can see on their display where nearby trucks are in the fleet, allowing them to avoid potential accidents. Responsible driving can be promoted through feedback and incentive programs for the drivers.

More features for less cost
By combining disparate technologies into one product, the manufacturing costs are substantially lower than building the products separately. These cost savings are passed directly to the customer. Also, the combination of these features allows your company to realize benefits far greater than any of them can deliver alone.
